InTASC Standard 7: Planning for Instruction
The teacher plans instruction that supports every student in meeting rigorous learning goals by drawing upon knowledge of content areas, curriculum, cross-disciplinary skills, and pedagogy, as well as knowledge of learners and the community context.
7.1 A Unit of Music History in a Secondary Piano class requires extensive preparation and organization. Throughout this unit I created 20 Lessons, Presentations, Assignments, Rubrics, Reviews, and Tests.
7.2 The Vocal/General Music teacher demonstrates knowledge in classroom management, content knowledge, and rehearsal strategy, all of which are present in any successful choral rehearsal.
7.3 Organization in a plan requires sources, objectives, and strategies for learning. A participatory act-out story requires diligent preparation in order for the students to be comfortable and open to learning.
