Melodia Mae Rinaldi (she/her) is a DMV-based music educator, conductor, and performer. She is an Artist in Residence at the Barbara Ingram School of the Arts, Music Director of the Gaithersburg Chorus, and founding director of the Gaithersburg Music Makers. She frequently adjudicates competitions and serves as a music director for community theatre. A sought-after vocal coach, she teaches music and theatre to all ages, specializing in music literacy and artistic growth. Melodia Mae Rinaldi (she/her) is a passionate music educator, conductor, and performer based in Baltimore, Maryland. She is an Artist in Residence at the Barbara Ingram School of the Arts Theatre Department, where she serves as a Private Voice Teacher, guiding young performers in vocal technique and artistic expression.

 

Ms. Rinaldi is the Music Director of the Gaithersburg Chorus, a community ensemble dedicated to musical wellness and vocal excellence, and the founding director of the Gaithersburg Music Makers, a vocal ensemble for singers ages 9-15.

 

She earned her Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Ithaca College in 2020 and her Bachelor’s degree in PreK-12 General and Vocal Music Education from Towson University in 2018. During her studies, she completed extensive education internships in and around Baltimore, honing her skills in vocal instruction and ensemble leadership.

 

A dedicated teaching artist, Ms. Rinaldi develops and instructs music, dance, drama, and design curricula for theater and arts programs throughout the Baltimore/D.C. area. Known for her versatility in vocal styles and teaching methods, she is a sought-after coach for classical, contemporary, and popular vocalists alike.

 

In addition to her work as an educator and conductor, Ms. Rinaldi manages the Young Artist Competition at the Gaithersburg Arts Barn, providing aspiring musicians with performance opportunities and professional development. She is also a frequent adjudicator and clinician for competitions and festivals, offering insightful feedback and guidance to developing vocalists and ensembles.

 

Ms. Rinaldi has also served as the music director for numerous community theatre productions, bringing her expertise in vocal coaching and ensemble direction to local musical performances.

 

As a soprano, she has been recognized with numerous awards, grants, and scholarships and has performed with esteemed ensembles such as LUX Choir of Washington, D.C. In 2019, she was selected to participate in the Professional Choral Institute at the Aspen Summer Music Festival, collaborating with the Grammy Award-winning ensemble Seraphic Fire.
